A girl from a small town in Northeast China.

MY STORY

“In a remote northeastern town, a winter of minus 25 degrees, and warm-hearted strangers.” If you ask me what my hometown is like, I would describe it to you like this. It's quietly unassuming, yet passionately embraces life. I take pride in being born in such a humble little hometown.

Shanghai-based ad professional with minimal personal life.

Shanghai is an unparalleled city that has provided me with the best job opportunities, invaluable experiences, and personal growth. However, as an advertising planner, I haven't witnessed Shanghai's sunset, explored its alleyways, all I've done is create PowerPoint presentations. Advertisers need the nourishment of life, but I've been consumed by overtime, with little room for a personal life. So I left.

A wandering child who finally found a home in photography.

Three years ago, when I first arrived in Vienna, I could barely speak English, not even to say German. During over a year without any job, I felt like I was simultaneously breaking and rebuilding myself. Yet, time and again, Vienna's beauty moved me. I took my camera to the banks of the Danube at 4 a.m., and captured the old town of Vienna at 1 a.m., dedicating 4-5 hours daily to practice capturing moments swiftly with my camera and feet. It was a way to observe everything around me, even though I couldn't understand it. The camera became my eyes and ears. Every time I pick up my camera, I can feel the warmth and authenticity of our existence.
